DAY FOUR: THE WITCHES

"I am not, of course, telling you for one second that your teacher actually is a witch. All I am saying is that she might be one. It is most unlikely. But - here comes the big but - not impossible."

  1. I like your countdown idea. I will be checking in to see what you've got for us each day.

I once thought it would be cool to count down each day until Halloween by watching one scary movie each night. They would get progressivly scarier as you got closer to the 31st.

I still haven't determined what the scariest movie would be.

    1. Thanks, J.P. I try to do that very same thing every October - one horror movie a night. Last night I chose the Presidential debate. Horrifying, indeed.

Scariest? My personal choices are The Exorcist or The Blair Witch Project (preceded by the Curse of the Blair Witch "documentary").

  2. Oddly enough, for someone who loves Halloween so much, I am quite skeptical of the supernatural. As a result, the movies I find the most spooky are ones where the monsters live in the minds of human beings. With a good stereo system, a decent television and a nice dark room, "The Strangers" would have to be one of my all time favorites.

    1. I love The Strangers until the last few minutes. I think they sacrificed what that movie's hook was - the terror coming from off screen noises and quick-second glimpses of the masked figures - for a shocking final moment of violence that, to me, didn't seem necessary.

I'm like you - as skeptical as they come. Is it impossible? No. Unlikely? I'd say so.
